Software Developer - Java Backend

Project Overview

The SMART2M project focuses on the development and evolution of an IoT (Internet of Things) Connectivity Management Platform, aimed at implementing and integrating software solutions.

The selected professional will join a software development team, contributing to the design, development and maintenance of backend services, REST APIs and microservices within a distributed and event-driven architecture.

The role involves software development, unit and integration testing, technical documentation and collaboration with the team to deliver robust, scalable and high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse functional and technical requirements and contribute to software solution specifications.
  

• Develop, implement and maintain software applications and services, primarily using Java.
  

• Develop and integrate REST APIs.
  

• Implement and maintain solutions based on microservices and event-driven architectures.
  

• Ensure code quality through unit and integration testing.
  

• Develop and execute End-to-End (E2E) tests to validate implemented functionalities.
  

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  

• Participate in code reviews, promoting software development best practices.
  

• Apply Clean Code principles and SOLID design principles.
  

• Collaborate with the team on the technical evolution of the platform and problem-solving activities.
  

Mandatory Requirements

• Proven software development experience using Java 8 or higher.
  

• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
  

• Knowledge of microservices architectures.
  

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures.
  

• Experience in software development and unit and integration testing.
  

• Knowledge of JavaScript.
  

• Experience with version control tools, particularly Git/GitHub.
  

• Knowledge of branch management, Pull Requests and Code Reviews.
  

• Knowledge of Clean Code principles and SOLID principles.
  

• Experience or knowledge of test automation using Playwright.
