ITAM stands for IT Asset Management. ITAM is a service offering designed to provide a transparent and consolidated overview of all IT, OT, and Cloud assets within an organization's network. This includes all assets with an IP address, software assets such as databases and web servers, and enterprise/business applications.
The primary goals of ITAM are:
• Improve Data Quality: By consolidating different data sources and identifying inconsistencies, ITAM addresses data gaps and outdated information to enhance overall asset data quality.
• Support Additional Services: ITAM integrates with services like licensing (SAM), vulnerability management, certificate validation.
• Lifecycle Management: ITAM ensures that assets are registered and tracked throughout their entire lifecycle, from deployment to retirement.
• Provide Recommendations: ITAM offers reports on how to improve asset data quality and supports processes to ensure assets are known and managed effectively
