Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Azure Platform Engineer to join a Cloud Platform (PaaS) team responsible for building and operating a self-service Kubernetes platform used by multiple development teams.

This role focuses on the design, implementation, and operation of a scalable Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) that enables application teams to deploy and operate software securely and efficiently at enterprise scale. You will contribute to architectural decisions, platform reliability, developer enablement, and cloud governance, using technologies selected for their proven value and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and operate a large-scale PaaS for containerized workloads, acting as the Azure subject matter expert within the platform team.
Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to define and deliver the technical roadmap for a strategic cloud platform.
Build and maintain highly available, resilient systems with strong observability, focusing on simplicity, reliability, and ease of troubleshooting. (Participation in on-call or out-of-hours support may be required.)
Maintain and evolve CI/CD pipelines, and automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and GitOps practices (Flux).
Support and mentor team members through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.
Implement and enforce platform security controls using tools such as HashiCorp Vault and OPA Gatekeeper.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in large-scale, production environments.
Strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and cloud-native tooling, including Helm, Istio, Flux, and Crossplane.
Proven experience managing and automating enterprise infrastructure using Terraform.
Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Go, TypeScript, Python, or Bash.
Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as ELK/EFK, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, or New Relic, along with a solid understanding of SRE and ITIL principles.
Experience working in Agile environments, using tools such as JIRA for planning and delivery tracking.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a pragmatic and respectful approach when working with stakeholders and development teams.

Additional Information

This role involves close collaboration with engineering and product teams and contributes directly to the reliability, security, and usability of a shared cloud platform.
