Mac Support Engineer with Intune Expertise

The client is seeking a Mac Support Engineer with deep experience in supporting Apple devices in an enterprise environment using Microsoft Intune. This role requires strong scripting and automation skills to streamline macOS management, enhance deployment workflows, and improve device compliance and performance.

The ideal candidate will combine hands-on expertise in macOS device management, automation using shell scripting or Python, and policy-driven configuration using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).

• Provide technical support for macOS users, including hardware, OS, and application troubleshooting.
• Deploy and manage macOS devices using Intune, including compliance policies, configuration profiles, and conditional access.
• Use Apple Business Manager (ABM) and Automated Device Enrolment (ADE) for zero-touch deployments.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to support software deployments, system monitoring, and patch management.
• Create custom scripts (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) to enhance automation for device configuration, reporting, and remediation tasks.
• Automate workflows to reduce manual effort and improve provisioning speed using tools like Intune Proactive Remediation and Shell scripts.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to enforce encryption, secure configurations, and software patching via automated policies.
• Package and deploy applications using Intune’s shell script capabilities or other MDM tools.
• Continuously optimize macOS management through testing, scripting, and feedback loops with support and engineering teams.
• Maintain technical documentation and automation runbooks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in macOS support in a corporate or enterprise setting.
• 2+ years working with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager for managing Apple devices.
• Proficiency with macOS shell scripting (Bash, Zsh) and working knowledge of Python for automation.
• Familiarity with Intune Proactive Remediation scripts, LaunchDaemons, and Automator.
• Experience using Apple Business Manager (ABM), Automated Device Enrollment (ADE), and Apple Push Notification Service (APNS).
• Experience with software packaging, deployment methods, and script-based provisioning.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for Mac environments.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
• Experience with Jamf, Munki, or other MDM tools is a plus. Continuously optimize macOS management through testing, scripting, and feedback loops with support and engineering teams.
Maintain technical documentation and automation runbooks.


Qualifications:

Experience using Apple Business Manager (ABM), Automated Device Enrollment (ADE), and Apple Push Notification Service (APNS).
Experience with software packaging, deployment methods, and script-based provisioning.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for Mac environments.
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
Experience with Jamf, Munki, or other MDM tools is a plus. Experience automating device onboarding, compliance checks, and patching processes.
• Knowledge of Intune Graph API, Azure Automation, or Power Automate for device lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with cross-platform automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell Core on macOS).
• Certifications such as ACSP, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or Jamf 200/300.
