Junior Cybersecurity Engineer

Lisboa

Descrição da posição

The Junior Cybersecurity Engineer supports the day-to-day security of our AWS Public Cloud environments and the  cybersecurity enablement service of the team. Working under the guidance of a Security Expert / Information Security Professional, the service covers monitoring of vulnerability management platforms, triage and routing of findings, routine AWS security and configuration tasks, and security support to agile delivery teams as an embedded Security Champion. The service acts as a practical bridge between IT operations and cybersecurity. This is an entry-to-junior level service: we expect a solid theoretical foundation in cybersecurity, a reliable and structured working style, and a strong willingness to learn,
rather than years of hands-on experience.

Responsibilities:
• Executing routine AWS configuration, operations and security tasks under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Monitoring AWS environments and cloud vulnerability management platforms (e.g. Wiz) to identify issues, misconfigurations and vulnerabilities.
• Raising, triaging and following up vulnerability and remediation tickets in Jira Service Management, ensuring they reach the correct owner and do not stall.
• Supporting security requirement engineering and flagging security issues as they surface during sprint delivery.
• Escalating to the senior engineer or Security Expert whenever a decision requires expert judgement.
• Supporting the creation and maintenance of Protection Concepts for the products in scope.
• Supporting Product Owners and system architects in keeping products secure throughout delivery.
• Working as a functioning member of an agile team: managing own tasks in Jira, working the team board and tracking work through to completion.
• Providing operational support to the team’s cybersecurity enablement activities, coordinating cross-functional work and tracking workflow in Microsoft Planner.
• Contributing to security awareness and DevSecOps habits within the agile delivery teams

Requirements

  • Junior Level:
  • Up to 1 year of practical experience in Public Cloud Operations, or an equivalent academic / certification background.
  • Basic hands-on experience in AWS administration and configuration.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g. Python); exposure to infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu is an advantage.
    Familiarity with Linux environments.
  • Basic knowledge of cyber security tools and concepts, including SAML and 2-factor authentication
    methods.
  • Structured troubleshooting approach and a proactive attitude towards system and platform monitoring.
  • Mid Level:
  • Good communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Action orientated. Should be able to persistently follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes
