Job description

You've done the maintenance. Now you want to build something from scratch.

Most sysadmins spend years managing what already exists — patching, tickets, one-off upgrades. This project is different: you'll walk into an on-premises datacenter, plan the full migration to a new generation of hardware and software, and walk out with a live environment running.

From day one to final cutover.

Requirements

What you'll do:

Migrate physical and virtual servers to the new platform (P2V, V2V, hypervisor upgrade)
Install and configure VMware vSphere/ESXi or Hyper-V in the new environment — from scratch
Restructure the Active Directory environment (domains, GPOs, trusts, DNS/DHCP)
Manage the cutover with planned maintenance windows and rollback procedures
Configure and validate Veeam (or equivalent) in the new environment
Document everything — before/after architecture, runbooks, network diagrams — for the client to use after the project
Automate with PowerShell wherever it makes sense
