SQL Data Engineer

• Design and build secure, scalable & reliable data pipelines (ETLs) for our SQL Server data warehouse
  
• Evolve data models & schema design of our Data Warehouse to support self-service needs
  
• Develop ETL performance monitoring and data quality treatments
  
• Collaborate with End User teams to analyse needs for development
  
• Establish strong and trusted relationships with your internal customers, support ad-hoc queries and troubleshoot live issues
  
• Proactively identify and propose enhancements to continuously improve performance and resilience throughout the BI stack
  
• Take ownership of the documentation portfolio for the BI Stack
  
• Work with the team to set and maintain standards and development practices;
  
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Architecture and Security teams to deliver/manage optimal, secure and compliant infrastructure for the team
  
• Be a keen advocate of quality and continuous improvement
  

Requirements

• Highly Skilled in T-SQL / Procedural SQL, confident with Dynamic SQL
  
• Highly skilled in the use of the Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio and SSIS
  
• Experience of end-to-end Data Warehousing design and development on Kimble methodologies
  
• Experience working with Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure technologies (e.g. Synapse, Databricks) beneficial
  
• Experience of D365 Finance & Operations
  
• Data Management and Entities preferred
  
• Understanding of Retail and/or Finance terminologies and metrics beneficial
  
• Confident working with End Users to translate business requirements into technical development stories
  
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to work in a fast moving operational environment with a positive attitude
  
• Excellent level of English, both written and spoken
