Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Job description

We are looking for the role "Mechanical integrity engineer" for one of our projects - please find the position description below.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the mechanical integrity of steam turbine components including rotors, diaphragms, blades, casings, valve bodies, bolts, and welds using FEA and analytical methods.
  • Evaluate damage mechanisms such as:
    • Low-cycle fatigue (LCF)
    • High cycle fatigue (HCF)
    • Thermo mechanical fatigue (TMF)
    • Modal analysis, flutter, and forced Response
    • Creep -fatigue interaction
  • Crack initiation and propagation (fracture mechanics)
  • Mesh generation and MI model setup, followed by analysis and post processing
  • Running and setting up HEEDS Tool Chain
  • Technology development for gas turbine operations based on turbine loading conditions, Controlling Logics, Life Assessment, etc.
  • Prepare technical documentation: Integrity assessments, risk analysis and stress reports

Requirements

Requirements for the Job:
  • Education: Master of science in the field of mechanical engineering or physics with focus on structural analysis
  • Minimum 4-8 years of engineering experience in structural integrity and lifetime assessment
  • Expert knowledge of FEA tools (e.g.Simcenter, ANSYS, ABAQUS,) required and basic knowledge with Simcenter HEEDs recommended
  • Relevant work experience in turbo machinery and understanding of rotor dynamics & thermodynamics are highly valued
  • Ability to work in a global team: fluent English is mandatory
  • Knowledge in preparing data for machine learning is a plus.
  • Structured way of working and ownership for your work packages
