Mechanical Integrity Engineer
Job description
We are looking for the role "Mechanical integrity engineer" for one of our projects - please find the position description below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the mechanical integrity of steam turbine components including rotors, diaphragms, blades, casings, valve bodies, bolts, and welds using FEA and analytical methods.
- Evaluate damage mechanisms such as:
- Low-cycle fatigue (LCF)
- High cycle fatigue (HCF)
- Thermo mechanical fatigue (TMF)
- Modal analysis, flutter, and forced Response
- Creep -fatigue interaction
- Crack initiation and propagation (fracture mechanics)
- Mesh generation and MI model setup, followed by analysis and post processing
- Running and setting up HEEDS Tool Chain
- Technology development for gas turbine operations based on turbine loading conditions, Controlling Logics, Life Assessment, etc.
- Prepare technical documentation: Integrity assessments, risk analysis and stress reports
Requirements
Requirements for the Job:
- Education: Master of science in the field of mechanical engineering or physics with focus on structural analysis
- Minimum 4-8 years of engineering experience in structural integrity and lifetime assessment
- Expert knowledge of FEA tools (e.g.Simcenter, ANSYS, ABAQUS,) required and basic knowledge with Simcenter HEEDs recommended
- Relevant work experience in turbo machinery and understanding of rotor dynamics & thermodynamics are highly valued
- Ability to work in a global team: fluent English is mandatory
- Knowledge in preparing data for machine learning is a plus.
