Job description
- Manage, maintain, and monitor Linux servers and applications, including system updates, patching, and configuration management.
- Perform regular system and security audits, vulnerability assessments, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Proactively identify and resolve system performance issues, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator, preferably in the financial or banking sector.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS) and system administration tools.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Openstack) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift).
- Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and load balancing solutions.
- Knowledge of storage solutions, such as SAN, NAS, LVM
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or Perl) for automation and process improvement.
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible) and version control systems (Git).
- Understanding of ITIL principles and experience working within ITIL-based environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications such as RHCE are a plus.
