Job description

We are looking for an Integration Engineer Lead Expert (Software AG / webMethods) for a hybrid project, minimum 3 days per week on-site, in Lisbon.

About the Role

You will provide specialised expertise in integration architecture, supporting delivery teams and ensuring adherence to security guidelines within a complex technical environment. You will act as design authority for integration solutions, facilitating the development, implementation and maintenance of integration patterns in accordance with best practices and technical standards.

The ideal candidate is technically strong and autonomous, comfortable acting as design authority while collaborating effectively within cross-functional international teams. You communicate complex technical information clearly and simply, adapt to different audiences and working styles, and are experienced in influencing project outcomes through both technical and operational support. Occasional travel or temporary relocation may be required, as well as flexibility to work outside regular hours when needed.

Main Responsibilities

Define and advise on solution architecture and integration patterns.
Support Level 4 technical activities across delivery teams.
Act as design authority for integration solutions.
Establish and promote best practices and guidelines in delivery activities.
Conduct research and development to support technological innovations.
Define the software roadmap aligned with project objectives.
Manage relationships with software vendors.
Ensure compliance with security protocols and guidelines.

Requirements

6+ years of expertise in Software AG/webMethods solutions.
1 to 2 years of specialisation in platform configuration and maintenance.
Experience with Software AG/webMethods v10 (Integration Server, API Gateway, Universal Messaging).
Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Proficiency in REST and SOAP protocols.
Experience with Docker, OpenShift, AWS and Azure environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Xvista).
Linux environment and scripting expertise.
Knowledge of Terraform.
Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Professional fluency in English, written and verbal.

Nice to Have

Java development skills.
Shell scripting experience.
Network architecture understanding.
