We are looking for a Senior Database Migration Engineer to join an agile, collaborative team where your voice matters as much as your code.

You won't just be managing databases; you'll be a technical partner helping us migrate and modernize our architecture.

National and international expected traveling time varies according to project/client and organizational needs: 0%-15% estimated.

How You'll Contribute

Architect & Migrate: Partner with our teams to guide the migration of our monolithic MS SQL Server database to a highly scalable, distributed read/write PostgreSQL architecture.
Build & Refactor Schema: Translate complex legacy database logic into optimized modern queries, moving seamlessly from T-SQL to PL/pgSQL.
Embrace AI-Assisted Engineering: Actively explore, trial, and integrate advanced AI tooling—specifically Claude Code—into your daily database engineering workflows to accelerate refactoring and optimization.
Design for Distribution: Work on indexing, partitioning strategies, and high-performing configuration setups to ensure seamless read/write performance across a multi-node database environment.

Requirements

Bridges Data and Software Engineering: You have a solid understanding of engineering and architectural principles, applying a software engineer's mindset to solve complex infrastructure and data modeling challenges.
Has Senior-Level Impact: You bring a track record of end-to-end database delivery in fast-paced environments, with deep expertise in SQL and database internals.
Values Collaboration: You collaborate openly on database workflows and are an excellent communicator capable of translating complex technical database concepts to leadership and partners in English.

Your Technical Toolkit:

Database Engines: High mid-to-senior level expertise in PostgreSQL and/or MS SQL Server (having hands-on experience with both is highly valued).
Modern AI Tools: Experience playing with or actively using LLMs and AI programming assistants (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor) to augment your daily development.
Distributed Architecture: Conceptual or hands-on familiarity with distributed database environments, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning.
