AI Engineer
Remote
Job description
We are looking for an AI Engineer for a fully remote position.
About the Role
You will design, build and productionise AI applications, agents and intelligent workflow components for a central AI team and local business teams. Your mission is to transform concrete business needs into robust AI-powered software that can be deployed, monitored, improved and scaled across multiple countries.
You work at the intersection of software engineering, GenAI, data, cloud and business process automation. Azure will be the primary platform context, especially for Microsoft AI services and Foundry-based solutions, while selected open-source and cloud-agnostic frameworks remain important for flexibility.
You are a software-minded AI engineer who likes building real products rather than isolated demos. You combine strong engineering habits with curiosity for GenAI, agents and automation, and you are comfortable turning ambiguous business problems into working technical solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Build AI applications, assistants, agents and workflow automation components using modern GenAI engineering patterns.
- Design and implement integrations with Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, APIs, enterprise systems, data platforms and internal tools.
- Develop retrieval, tool-use, orchestration, evaluation, monitoring and guardrail components for production AI solutions.
- Work with data engineers and data scientists to connect models, prompts, workflows and data pipelines into reliable end-to-end solutions.
- Support the implementation of agentic workflows that can be reused by country teams.
- Improve developer experience, engineering standards, reusable templates and production readiness for AI software delivery.
Requirements
Mandatory
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience building GenAI applications, assistants, agents or AI-enabled workflow automation.
- Hands-on experience with Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry or comparable AI platforms.
- Understanding of RAG, prompt and context engineering, tool calling, evaluation, orchestration and responsible production operation of AI systems.
- Experience working with APIs, cloud-native services, data pipelines and enterprise integration patterns.
- Comfortable using GenAI software engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or OpenCode.
- Fluent English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Microsoft Agent Framework, LangChain, MCP or comparable agent frameworks.
- Experience with agentic workflow builders, dashboards or user-facing AI applications.
- Experience with Snowflake, vector databases, observability tooling or LLM gateway patterns.
